WTH News: Ratchet's Eyebrows
It turns out that Ratchet's eyebrows from Ratchet&Clank:Tools of Destruction are different in the US/EU and Japanese versions (see below).

Playstation Mascot
Okay, the only reason I am posting this blog is because my PS3 died on me and I have nothing better to do. You see when a personal like me gets a new games (COD4), play it non-stop for 8 hours until they finish it and at the end it dies on you it's not very good for the mind. Let's hope that when Sony gives me my new one on Tuesday it isn't a fragging 40gb or I swear i'll have to kill someone (i'm looking at you Jack Thompson). Also because I just watched the latest installment of Zero Punctuation and feel like ranting.
Now, each game company has their own mascots. With Sega it was Sonic. Nintendo has Mario (still) and the xbox has Master Chief. These people tend to make the rabid fanboys buy almost every new copy even if it's just the same game with a few more features (wait, that reminds me of a sports game). Anyway, I tried to think of Playstations mascot a while ago but got stumped and have been thinking about it ever since.
Mascots have to be loyal, with the only exception I can think of being the Halo movie which is coming out on blu-ray and not hd-dvd so you can't play it on a Microsoft console. Another main point is that a mascot needs to be up-to-date and have a game out or coming out for the PS3. The games also need to be good.
Contender 1
Crash
Was the unoficcial mascot for the Playstation1.
Once the next generation (PS2/Xbox/Gamecube) started he moved multiplatform.
The Crash Bandicoot games for the original Playstation (especially 3) got good reviews.
A new game has recently been released but not for the PS3. This has gotten "okay" reviews.
Contender 2
Spyro the Dragon
Very Similar to crash. Also moved multiplatform when PS2 came out.
Good games generally but lacking with the new ones.
No new games announced for the PS3.
Contender 3
Solid Snake
All the Metal Gear games have appeared on a Playstation console, being a remake or not. Every Metal Gear Solid game has been a Playstation exclusive. He is also appearing in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Metal Gear Solid 4 coming to the PS3 exclusively.
Contender 4
Cloud Strife
In each game he appears, except a few, he is on a Playstation console or handheld. The exceptions are the mobile phone game Before Crisis and Chain of Memories for the GBA.
Final Fantasy VII got great reviews and the games he hasn't been a primary character in not so great (e.g. Dirge of Cerberus).
No PS3 game announced but a FFVII remake is almost certain at some point in the future.

Except for the mobile game, all God of War games have been on the Playstation console.
All games have had great reviews.
New God of War III announced for PS3.

Nathan Hale
Only one game out featuring him, PS3 exclusive.
Resistance:Fall of Man got good reviews.

It seems as though these are the main contenders. I think it's safe to rule out Spyro and Crash. Nathan Hale could become a mascot at a later date once more games are out. Clank is just a tin robot.
This leaves Solid Snake, Cloud, Kratos and Ratchet.
I could go on a rant about how this makes playstation so awesome, but I don't want to sound too much like a fanboy.

Introduction
Okay, this is my first blog post so i'll just give the lame introduction that most people only read because it's short.
My blog posts will mostly start out as reviews. These will generally be ranty and similar to Zero Punctuation. I may, however, give news posts as time goes but just for big stories.
I thought it might be a good idea to give a "Best..." just to show my own personal interests. It will also be interesting to see how this changes over the years:
Best Anime - Death Note
Best Book - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Best Character - Cloud Strife (reminds me of myself)
Best Game - Final Fantasy VII
Best Movie - Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
